Strike Grounds Lufthansa Flights

Lufthansa A380 aircraft on runway

A cabin crew strike is grounding flights by Lufthansa November 7 – 8, forcing the airline to operate a special flight schedule. The strike is begin led by the Independent Flight Attendant Organization (UFO)

Lufthansa said that it will operate a special flight plan on both days of the strike, and that affected passengers have been transferred to other flights free of charge. Passengers should check the current status of their flight prior to departure, and enter their mobile number in their Miles & More profile or in their booking to receive automatic updates on further changes.

The airline is also asking those affected by the strike to make use of the self-service facilities for their own rebooking, refund of their tickets or issuing rail vouchers. In the event of a cancellation, Lufthansa said that it will rebook free of charge, usually automatically, to another flight and inform the affected passenger via their mobile phone number. Rebooked flights booked by Lufthansa can also be rebooked once again free of charge.

Passengers whose flight have not been cancelled, but are still booked on a Lufthansa flight to or from Frankfurt or Munich departing November 7 – 8 can still rebook free of charge, so long as the original ticket was issued on or before November 4. Those affected can rebook on the same route to a new departure date through November 15, subject to availability, in the same class. Those booked on a domestic flight during this time can also exchange their flight for a train ticket here. A seat reservation is strongly recommended and can be made here
