Amadeus reports that it has entered a global distribution agreement with Canada’s Sunwing Airlines, a Toronto-based carrier serving several Canadian, US and European destinations, as well as cities in Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. The airline is now “live” and bookable in the Amadeus System.

Sunwing’s agreement with Amadeus extends the carrier’s marketing and sales reach worldwide through the Amadeus network. For travel agencies and other travel sellers around the world that subscribe to Amadeus, the agreement provides access to all Sunwing fares and inventory, presenting a unique air travel option for customers.

“As Sunwing continues to expand, our agreement with Amadeus strategically positions us to increase sales in our service markets and beyond,” said Andrew Dawson, President Tour Operations. “As a result of our participation in the Amadeus System, we’re anticipating new customers and new opportunities to showcase the Sunwing experience.”

Sunwing Airlines, operating a fleet of over 20 Boeing 737s plus seasonal 767s, offers complimentary champagne on international flights, complimentary meals and snacks, even a free hot towel service to differentiate its service. The airline is part of the Sunwing Travel Group, Canada’s largest leisure travel company comprising tour operators, an airline, retail travel agencies and destination management companies.

“Amadeus is committed to securing new and relevant travel content and options to ensure that our worldwide subscribers can meet the needs of their customers, wherever their travels take them,” said Dwayne Ingram,  Executive Vice President for Amadeus Americas’ Airline Group. “And for Sunwing, access to the world’s largest travel distribution network and therefore to more agents in more corners of the world means more business opportunity.
