United Charges LAX Passengers

Effective immediately, all United Airlines passengers originating at Los Angeles International Airport will be hit with a surcharge of $10. Dow Jones Newswires reported the news on Wednesday, stating the fee is to offset a $10 million rent increase by Los Angeles World Airports. United claims the increase violates its long-term lease agreement and, along with other airlines, has filed a lawsuit against Los Angeles World Airports, the news service reported.
