After getting the go-ahead by Australia's airline board, Virgin Blue announced plans to launch long-haul international airline routes to the United States and possibly some Asian destinations as well, The Australian reported on Wednesday. "Subject to conditions such as regulatory approval, the granting of adequate bilateral access and the conclusion of aircraft negotiations, the airline expects to launch international long-haul operations by late 2008," the carrier said.
