Victoria Cruises and Travcoa Independent Journeys have partnered to offer the 12-day “Ageless China Independent Journey” along the Yangtze River in China. The journey has guests stop at Beijing, Xi’an, Shanghai and Chengdu before embarking on a four-day cruise along the Yangtze from Chengdu to Yichang aboard the five-star Victoria Jenna.

The land stops on the trip include most meals as well as guided sightseeing. In Beijing, travelers will be able to explore the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Great Wall of China and the Summer Palace, as well as visit the home of a local family. In Xi’an guests can pay their respects at the tomb of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, visit the Wild Goose Pagoda and stroll through the Shaanxi Historical Museum. When guests arrive in Shanghai they will be able to see the Yuyuan Gardenan and Jade Buddha Temple, the old town, a local silk factory and the Shanghai Museum. The visit to Chengdu includes a trip to the Giant Panda Breeding Center as well as a walk along River View Park.

The cruise along the Yangtze also includes most meals as well as a chance to see the Three Gorges dam, a private excursion by sampan to the scenic Daning or Shennong River tributaries, and nightly Tai Chi lessons and entertainment.

This itinerary combines the cruise expertise of Victoria Cruises, which operates the largest fleet on the Yangtze, with the luxury adventure experience of Travcoa.

"Travcoa has been working with Victoria Cruises for a number of years," said Allen Thompson, manager of Travcoa. "We are truly grateful for the partnership as well as the positive impact the continued development of Victoria's fleet has had on our China itineraries."

The package starts at $3525 per person based on double occupancy. Intra-tour flights starting at $565, as well as international airfare, are also available from Travcoa.
