Airline Content Provider ATPCO Signs With Two Major GDS Companies

Airline content provider ATPCO has signed distribution agreements with two major GDS companies: Amadeus and Sabre. The two deals allow Amadeus and Sabre to offer airline rich content from Routehappy, which ATPCO acquired in February 2018. This rich content includes:

  • Amenities: Common flight product attributes, such as legroom and Wi-Fi
  • UTAs (Universal Ticket Attributes): Fare benefits and restrictions, e.g. baggage and seat selection
  • UTA data kit: A new toolkit that helps systems create UTAs with ATPCO pricing and rule data
  • UPAs (Universal Product Attributes): Visual and descriptive content such as photos and videos

The agreement with Amadeus will allow the company to offer ATPCO’s airline content through its array of flight shopping applications and interfaces, including travel seller and traveler applications powered by Amadeus, as well as its flight shopping APIs, which are used by many corporate booking tools. The agreement also includes rights to integrate rich content into NDC offers; and, as part of the agreement, Amadeus will support ATPCO’s Next Generation Storefront (NGS) standard, which ATPCO said will help modernize the shopping experience for consumers.

The agreement also makes ATPCO an authorized provider of airline rich content to Amadeus, and Amadeus an authorized distributor of Routehappy Rich Content. In addition to API access, ATPCO will also provide flat file access to Routehappy Rich Content to Amadeus for the first time, a move that the company said accelerates the rate at which airline rich content can be deeply integrated into multiple points within its applications – such as Amadeus Selling Platform Connect, and Amadeus for Developers API – to power richer flight shopping experiences for travel sellers and buyers.

The new agreement with Sabre enables the company to distribute ATPCO’s Routehappy content to Sabre-connected travel agencies, online travel agencies and other travel buyers and airline IT customers. The new distribution scope includes Sabre’s air shopping APIs and direct airline shopping and merchandising solutions, in addition to Sabre global distribution system (GDS).

Sabre has also agreed to support the NGS standard. Additionally, as with the Amadeus agreement, this deal makes ATPCO an authorized provider of airline rich content to Sabre, and Sabre an authorized distributor of Routehappy Rich Content. In addition to API access, ATPCO will also provide flat file access to Routehappy Rich Content to Sabre for the first time, a move that the company said accelerates the rate at which Sabre can integrate Routehappy’s descriptive and visual content across its applications, including Sabre Red 360 and Sabre Dev Studio APIs, and in airline direct channels.
