ASTA Announces New Leadership Roles to Strengthen Member Support and Comms

The American Society of Travel Advisors has announced several leadership appointments designed to strengthen how the association supports its members, tells ASTA’s story and advances its strategic priorities.

Pam Bonin has been appointed senior director of member care and services, and Jaci Miller has been appointed director of membership sales and engagement. Together, Bonin and Miller will lead ASTA’s membership team in close partnership, with a focus on deepening member relationships, growing the association’s community of travel advisors and ensuring ASTA continues to deliver meaningful value to all members.

In her role, Bonin will lead ASTA’s member care and services strategy, providing support that helps members stay connected to ASTA’s programs, resources, events and advocacy work while receiving strong service across their interactions with the association. Miller will lead membership sales and engagement, with an emphasis on growth, outreach and strengthening the pathways that bring new members into ASTA.

Their combined leadership will create a more coordinated and effective membership function, aligned around both growth and service.

ASTA also announced that Margo Van Ness has been appointed senior director of marketing and communications. In this expanded role, Van Ness will oversee both the marketing and communications functions, bringing greater alignment to ASTA’s messaging, brand, campaigns and stakeholder communications.

Van Ness has played an important role in strengthening ASTA’s voice and visibility within the travel industry and among its members. Her leadership will help ensure that ASTA’s marketing and communications efforts are more closely integrated, strategically focused and positioned to support the organization’s broader goals.

With these appointments, Bonin, Miller and Van Ness join ASTA’s senior staff, providing cross-functional leadership and strategic perspective as the association continues advancing its mission.

“This announcement reflects the strong talent we have within ASTA and the importance of aligning our teams around the work that matters most: serving our members, growing our reach and strengthening the value and visibility of the travel advisor profession,” said Zane Kerby, ASTA president and CEO. “Pam, Jaci and Margo have each demonstrated a deep commitment to ASTA and its members, and I am confident they will make a significant impact in these roles.”

The leadership appointments further emphasize ASTA’s continued focus on member value, strategic growth and elevating the role of the travel advisor across the industry.
