The Enchantment Group has announced the appointment of Carlton Russell as managing director of The Cove, Eleuthera. A veteran in the hospitality sector, Russell will lead the resort through a new chapter as it reopens at the end of February. In this new role, Russell will oversee all aspects of the intimate resort, including guest experience and food and beverage programming. He will also be responsible for maximizing revenue and maintaining focus on strategic goals.

A native of Nassau, Russell joins The Cove from Atlantis Bahamas, where he held numerous executive leadership positions during his decade-long tenure, including vice president of resort; food and beverage operations; and vice president of hotel operations. Most recently, he served as vice president and general manager – conventions, where he oversaw the largest conference space in the Caribbean. Prior to that, Russell served as director of food and beverage at Ocean Club Resort, A Four Seasons Resort (formerly One&Only), where he oversaw a team of 350 employees.
Russell has also served as president of the Bahamas Hotel Tourism Association (2016 to 2020) and is a leader in the Bahamian tourism industry. He also acts as an adjunct professor at the University of West Indies and holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy-Leadership and Organizational Change. He also serves as a trustee on two boards of directors: Bahamas Hotel Industry Management Pension Fund and Bahamas Hotel Employees Assistance Fund.
Fun fact: Eleuthera was an annual childhood summer retreat for Russell, who says he is looking forward to returning to the island as a full-time resident.
