Cruise Planners Wraps Up Annual Convention

Cruise Planners has wrapped up its four-day annual convention in Mexico and is prepared to get “Back to the Future…The Future of Travel!” The final day’s sessions included a land panel hosted by Ana Parodi, vice president of sales amd marketing, and touched on this growing segment of travel. Experts from five leading brands shared tips with Cruise Planners advisors on how they can grow their land business.

Jenny Warren, director of host accounts, CIE; Juan Rodriguez, sales manager, AAV; Susan Gaines, business development manager, Globus; Liz Purkey, regional director, Sandals and Marc Moore, vice president, agency sales, Kensington represented the five brands. During the session, they talked about how to overcome obstacles and close the sale. Some key topics included “New Hot Destinations for 2022,” “Diversifying Your Business Mix to Include Land” and “Tips on Selling a Land Vacation Experience.” 

Other sessions focused on a few of the major announcements made on Day 1. Parodi, together with chief information officer Brian Shultz shared more details about the new White-Label websites and webpage templates. These are tools that can help advisors grow their database and increase their visibility through strategic third party partnerships.

The new SOAR Dashboard was presented by Theresa Scalzitti, CSO, and Scott Koepf, SVP of strategic planning. They explained how leveraging this dashboard that contains over 120 metrics should be used to analyze their business to understand their strengths, opportunities, track their aspirations and measure their results.

This year, CP Cares, a charity that donates to several worthy causes raised money through raffles and auctions. Both donations from CP Cares and the Cruise Planners network of advisors helped support a local charity in Mexico, the Karisma Foundation. Several items such as diapers, personal hygiene supplies, and children’s toys for pediatric patients along with a cash donation of $10,000 was presented to the representatives of the Karisma Foundation.  

And finally, the 2022 Cruise Planners Convention was announced for November 2022 and will involve an inaugural trade sailing of the new Norwegian Prima.
