Fora Introduces Accessible Travel Program for Travel Advisors

Travel agency Fora has announced a new accessible travel program. The new program offers Fora’s travel advisors access to the tools, training and community support necessary to build a successful business focused on this underserved market.

Fora’s new accessible travel curriculum is designed to help advisors offer barrier-free experiences to all. Accessible travel includes tailored experiences for clients with diverse needs—whether it’s mobility accommodations, wheelchair-friendly transportation or activities suited for sensory or congenital disabilities. Fora’s goal is to make sure that its advisors become experts at breaking down the often-overlooked barriers, ensuring every journey is truly inclusive.

Through this program, advisors will have access to monthly newsletters on top accessible booking destinations/trends and a handpicked and vetted selection of 100-plus accessible partners around the world, as well as new training modules on gathering client information, and finding and booking accessible travel for clients with mobility needs. They will also have access to a WhatsApp group, besides the option to get a new accessibility badge/be accessible-travel certified. Notably, this program was co-created with Fora travel advisors who have mobility needs themselves.

Despite the growing demand, the travel industry still faces significant challenges in providing adequate accessible options for travelers with limited mobility. Many travelers struggle to find accommodation and services that truly cater to their needs, while advisors often lack the specialized training, resources, and time required to effectively serve this market. The result is a travel industry that remains complex and frustrating for the 15 percent of adults who require accessible options. Fora aims to foster an entrepreneurial community dedicated to serving travelers with mobility needs, including wheelchair users, multi-generational families and individuals with other accessibility considerations.
