Katina Athanasiou Appointed as Chief Sales Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Cruise Line has appointed Katina Athanasiou as the company’s chief sales officer. Her new role will involve maximizing opportunities across all third-party booking channels to drive the cruise line’s sales strategy. She will report to President and Chief Executive Officer Andy Stuart

Camille Olivere, senior vice president of sales and trade partnerships, will work together with Athanasiou. Olivere will directly lead Norwegian Cruise Line’s efforts with strategic accounts while building upon relationships with independent travel advisors.

Having worked in the cruise industry for more than 20 years, Athanasiou’s most recent role was acting as senior vice president of charters, meetings, incentives and events (MICE market). She looked after the sales undertakings for all full-ship charters and corporate and incentive groups across Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings brands. Previously, she headed the MICE sales effort for Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

The company says this role reflects the cruise line’s dedication to its Partner’s First Reporting—the program which makes travel partners the focus of business decisions.

In other Norwegian Cruise Line news, the third annual ocean conservation-themed cruise will be hosted on Norwegian Escape in partnership with the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation (GHOF) and Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Guy Harvey Research Institute this fall.
