Travel host agency Travel Planners International (TPI) held a Pop-Up TPI event at the Travel Agent Forum in Miami in early October which gave agents the opportunity to experience Travel Planners International and its tools for travel agents first hand.
The three hour event brought corporate headquarters on a smaller scale to agents on site. Members of TPI departments including accounting, business development, group cruising, marketing and social media spoke with both prospective and current TPI agents.
The main focus of the meetings discussed TPI’s role as a travel host agency that’s visible for all types of agents and how solopreneurs can build and grow thriving businesses with help from TPI regarding more sales, marketing and backend support.
Each agent who attended the event was walked through the process of working with TPI on arrival, meaning if a travel business or owner specialized in cruises, they then met with the cruise department before meeting with employees from other departments so they can better understand what TPI as a host travel agency could do for them in terms of promoting their business to submitting sales and collecting commissions.
The event benefited agents who were already members of TPI as well. Jenn Lee, vice president of sales and marketing at TPI, said “Some of the agents who’ve been with TPI for years didn’t know about some of the programs and support we offer.”
“Why?” she added. “Because as their businesses grew, morphed or changed, they didn’t realize our business had grown, morphed and changed to support them.”
Travel Planners International is planning to hold three Pop-Up TPI events during 2017. Visit www.travelplannersinternational.com for more information.
