Carnival Corporation promoted David Candib to vice president of port and destination development and operations. His promotion comes as part of an expansion to Carnival's Port and Destination Development Division, headed by Gloria Israel. Candib was previously director of business development at Carnival Corporation, and previously worked on a number of projects in the Caribbean. In his new position, Candib will be in charge of Miami-based port operations, development and the port reservation system.
The Great American Steamboat Company unveiled some of the early 2012 entertainment options aboard the Steamboat American Queen. Disney Cruises' Disney Fantasy is offering a Muppets-themed adventure game in 2012. The game, titled "The Case of the Stolen Show," involves passengers in a mystery to find hidden evidence, which can include items like Kermit's banjo and Animal's drum sticks. The game features multiple endings and several randomized events.
Arctic Kingdom is launching explorer-yacht polar exhibitions in 2012. These exhibitions can be customized by the client, and include overnight trips to places such as the North Pole, Ellesmere Island and Greenland's Ice Caps. According to Actic Kingdom, much of the Arctic region is accessible by yachts leaving New England.
