Now Open: Florence’s Hotel La Gemma

The design-led Hotel La Gemma, located on the street of Via Calimala, Florence, has opened its doors to guests. The hotel is located within the 19th-century Palazzo Paoletti, formerly the residence of the Guild of Hoteliers and designed by Italian architect Tito Bellini

The decor style is "old-school sophistication reinvented" and is inspired by the color palette of the nearby Duomo, with its green marble and pink-hued stone. Guests will find bold geometric patterns and sumptuous textiles, including handcrafted king-sized beds with Italian velvet bed linen and marble bathrooms.

Located on Hotel La Gemma’s first floor is the gourmet restaurant LUCA’s by Paolo Airaudo. This high-end dining concept showcases Tuscan cuisine in the head chef’s trademark contemporary style. Italian/Argentinian Chef Airaudo has worked in restaurants from Geneva to Hong Kong, and achieved two Michelin stars for his restaurant Amelia by Paulo Airaudo in San Sebastian. Guests can tuck into fresh, seasonal ingredients where classical Italian cuisine is elevated ith an innovative twist and artistry. Guests can also listen to vintage jazz in the cocktail lounge bar as an expert mixologist crafts signature cocktails.

The Allure Boutique Spa, tucked within the property’s historic cellars, offers a Turkish bath, hydro-massage bath, ice shower and two therapy rooms. Treatments are designed with bespoke Biologique Recherche products. Or, guests can head to the front desk to be met by the concierge team, who will arrange customized experiences and bespoke activities throughout Tuscany. VIP La Gemma experiences include private visits to local perfumeries or artisan workshops and ateliers, a farmhouse cooking class, a helicopter tour over Florence, or a gourmet wine tasting in one of Florence’s hidden cellars.
