It’s been a week full of new hires for many of the Caribbean’s notable hotels including two in Jamaica and one in The Bahamas. Travel Agent breaks down the latest moves from three popular Caribbean resorts.
A string of hotel appointments began on Monday when Aram Zerunian, general manager at Half Moon, A RockResort in Rose Hall, Jamaica, announced the appointment of Arlien Dyer as the resort’s industry sales manager.
Previously the pre-arrival concierge manager, Dyer is now charged with advancing and maintaining relations with travel agents and wholesalers globally as well as pursuing new partnerships in new and existing markets for the luxury Caribbean resort.
Round Hill Hotel and Villas in Montego Bay, Jamaica announced Tuesday the appointment of Linda Lawrence as director of sales and marketing.
Prior to her appointment at Round Hill Hotel and Villas, Lawrence spent more than a decade in a senior-level sales capacity at Half Moon in Montego Bay, focusing on travel industry sales. Lawrence is a graduate of Florida International University and holds a degree in tourism and hospitality management from Revans University.
Also that day, Grand Lucayan, Bahamas on Grand Bahama Island appointed David Margolis and Lynn Scarpelli as national sales managers for the 519-room resort.
An industry veteran, Margolis brings 28 years of hospitality-related sales and marketing experience to the resort. Prior to his appointment at Grand Lucayan, Margolis served as director of sales and marketing at various resorts, including Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort in Puerto Rico; Renaissance PineIsle Resort in Georgia as well as multiple Florida resorts, including the Doubletree Palm Beach Gardens Hotel & Executive Meeting Center, Atlantic Resort & Spa and Coral Springs Marriott Hotel, Golf Club and Convention Center. Margolis graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a Bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management.
