New Towers Rise in Vegas

January 13, 2010 By: Jena Tesse Fox Travel Agent

Planet Hollywood soft-launched the new 52-story PH Towers

Rarely do we see two Las Vegas hotels open new towers at the same time, but that’s exactly what happened in December at both the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas and Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, right on the heels of the debut of CityCenter.

At the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, the new HRH Tower is an all-suite structure built at the south end of the property. The new tower, which follows the recent Paradise Tower, has 359 Standard suites, eight spa villas (opening directly to the pool areas) and seven Penthouse suites on the 16th floor with views of both the Strip and the mountains. To get a sense of the luxe levels, the Standard rooms have integrated wet bars, sitting areas and suite bathrooms with cast-iron tubs.

The Penthouse suites offer some neat extras for guests. The Nirvana Suite has direct access to a beach area with a private plunge pool and two four-poster draped daybeds. In one of the master bedrooms of The Provocateur Suite, an interactive projection system is built into an enormous bed that projects images (of ladies, we hear) onto the wall behind the bed and onto the bed itself. (Might be a good idea to keep the kiddies out of this room.)

Geared toward luxury clientele, the tower will have its own VIP entrance and check-in as well as direct access to the new casino space, the new Reliquary spa and Vanity nightclub.

The centerpiece of the spa are the classic Roman Baths, complete with private cabana-type alcoves and lounge space. (The Bath House can double as an entertainment area for small parties and group functions.) In addition to the 21 treatment rooms and fitness center, Reliquary has a private studio for pole-dancing lessons.

The Vanity nightclub has two marble bars, a sunken dance floor, 50 VIP booths, an outdoor terrace (with five cabanas that have direct access to a sky bar) and—oh, bliss!—a ladies’ lounge (which, we hear, includes six individual vanity stations and a full length three-way mirror with staff on-hand to fix broken nails, style hair and spruce up makeup).

Travel agents should contact David Sukala ([email protected]), director of group sales for inquiries.

Planet Hollywood, meanwhile, has soft-launched the 52-story, 1,201-room PH Towers. The new towers are home to 1,200 suites—all of which have kitchens (the studio suites have kitchenettes) and washer/dryers to make guests feel at home.

Reveling in the philosophy of “Too Much is Never Enough,” the two-bedroom suites in the PH Towers sprawl out over 1,500 square feet and include four LCD HDTVs. (If those aren’t enough, there’s also an HD projector with drop-down screen—ideal for movie buffs.) In addition to a full kitchen, there’s a separate kitchenette (after all, what’s a chef without a sous-chef?), and each of the two bathrooms has a spa tub in addition to a shower.

PH Towers will overlook a tropical pool with its own sandy beach ringed by private cabanas and a poolside bar. The Towers will also have direct access to a Fitness and Health Club, shopping at the Miracle Mile Shops (170 specialty stores and 15 restaurants) and, of course, gaming at the casino.

Travel agents should contact Donna Marcou-Stafford, vice president of leisure sales, at 702-785-5034 with questions.
