Ana Moves Too Fast to Cause Serious Damage

The Associated Press reports that Tropical Depression Ana raced across the northeastern Caribbean today, soaking Puerto Rico, but is moving too fast to do much damage. There were reports of heavy rain and minor local flooding but no major damage as Tropical Depression Ana moved through the region, passing just to the south of Puerto Rico.

The system had been downgraded earlier from a tropical storm and has been moving unusually fast across the region. Forecasters at the United States National Hurricane Center in Miami said Ana was heading west-northwest at 28 mph and could dissipate as it crosses the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
