NYC's Edge to Host Solar Eclipse Sightseeing Event on April 8

Guests can head to the Edge on April 8, 2024, to watch the upcoming solar eclipse from the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, offering views of New York City’s skyline. In addition, as part of the “Sky-High Eclipse” experience, Edge will be giving out solar eclipse glasses to all guests, allowing them to safely observe the event. They can also try the special eclipse cocktail available for purchase at the bar.

“We’re excited for guests to experience this captivating celestial event from our outdoor sky deck, offering one of the best views in New York City,” said Douglas Trueblood, vice president marketing, Hudson Yards Experiences. “It’s a rare opportunity, and we’re thrilled to provide visitors with an unforgettable experience, complete with unparalleled vantage points.”

Rising 1,131 feet in the air and extending out 65 feet from the 100th floor of 30 Hudson Yards, Edge’s outdoor viewing area has a glass floor, angled glass walls and outdoor skyline steps from the 100th to 101st floors. Visitors can enjoy a toast in the sky with champagne from Edge’s bar, and for an elevated dining experience, the Peak restaurant, bar and event space is on the 101st floor right above Edge.

Edge is also home to City Climb, the highest external building climb in the world. Located atop the sky deck, City Climb challenges guests to scale the outside of a building, which is over 1,200 feet tall, then lean out from the outdoor platform at the top of the skyscraper.
