Cunard Unveils New Alaska-Themed Spa Treatment

Cunard is returning to Alaska this May for the first time in two decades. And to celebrate, beauty experts have developed a new treatment.

Mareel Wellness & Beauty, the new spa concept for luxury cruise line Cunard, which has been developed in partnership with Canyon Ranch, has launched a new treatment for the line’s return to Alaska with a Last Frontier-themed beauty treatment.

The two-and-a-half-hour wellness ritual begins with a 15-minute outdoor guided meditation. This is followed by 20 minutes of guided stretching overlooking the Alaskan outdoors. The treatment culminates with the signature 80-minute Journey Through the Wilderness treatment, designed to release deep stress and tension while stimulating the immune system through use of a blend of native essential oils.

The body treatment includes:

  • Full body exfoliation
  • Application of Alaskan Glacial Mud from The Copper River Delta, which is packed with over 60 minerals believed to boost skin cell regeneration for younger and healthier looking complexion
  • A private soak in a bathtub with organically sourced seaweed whilst looking out at the Alaska shorelines
  • A full body massage

The experience continues with a 50-minute facial designed to restore the skin’s vitality and reveal a bright, smooth and youthful-looking complexion:

  • Brush cleanse
  • Skin radiance mask
  • facial massage
  • Moisturizing serum and cream application
  • Scalp massage with optional hair conditioning treatment
