This Week in Cruise: New Sailings in Europe, South America and Exotics

New itineraries were front and center last week, as Scenic introduced its new 2024 European River Cruise offerings.Two new itineraries are a 10-day "Danube in Depth" from Budapest-to-Nuremburg (and reverse) and an 11-day "Iconic Danube with Prague.” Norwegian Cruise Line also unveiled new exotic itineraries for 2024-2025.

AmaWaterways leaders detailed the line's new river cruise itineraries on Colombia's Magdalena River in 2024; two new vessels will sail between Cartagena and Barranquiilla. In addition, Holland America Line introduced extended "Legendary Voyages" of 25 to 59 days as part of its 150th anniversary lineup.  

The air travel journey to some voyages in remote regions is getting a bit easier. Silversea Cruises announced new direct charter flights to the Arctic for 28 Arctic and Greenland sailings in 2023 and 2024. Guests sailing on select Silver Endeavour, Silver Wind and Silver Cloud itineraries can board charter flights from New York, Montreal, London and Oslo to remote destinations in the Arctic, including Longyearbyen, Kangerlussuaq, Pond Inlet and more.

On the new ship front, Princess Cruises floated out the new 4,300-passenger Sun Princess, set to begin service in 2024. New spaces will include a Santorini-inspired entertainment venue called The Dome and a three-story Horizons Dining Room.

Explora Journeys, the luxury lifestyle brand of MSC Group, revealed the new designs for Explora I's ocean penthouses and ocean residences

Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic expanded its expedition cruise portfolio with the addition of chartered voyages aboard Sea Cloud II, a three-mast modern sailing yacht.

On the culinary front, Atlas Ocean Voyages announced that culinary specialist and historian Mara Papatheodorou will be a featured Gastronomic Guest” on select "Epicurean Expeditions" this summer​​

Sister publication Luxury Travel Advisor detailed Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ new programming with special “Epicurean Spotlight Voyages." Those feature "Gastronomic Guests" and "Visiting Vintners."
