Contiki Launches New Trips to Europe With Up to 20 Percent Savings

Contiki has unveiled new trips and experiences across Europe for 2022, with an additional 20 percent savings on select trips. Crafted for young travelers between ages 18 and 35, Contiki’s 2022 tours to Europe venture into two new destinations—Tuscany and Romania—and includes a new series of themed itineraries centered around Active,” “Pride,” “Food” and “Vegan” experiences.

The tour company has also added new European itineraries to their collection of Detour trips, which are mini-adventures taking guests off the tourist trail and on to immersive getaways with local hosts.

Good to know: Through its partnership with TreadRight, Contiki is committed to sustainable travel with new “Make Travel Matter” experiences, chosen by using an assessment criterion endorsed by sustainable tourism experts exclusive to Contiki. These experiences spread awareness about the issues concerning wildlife, the planet and the communities tourists visit while empowering young travelers to step up and make a difference. Additionally, all 2022 trips with Contiki will also be carbon neutral, committing to its five-point Climate Action Plan that includes carbon reduction and evolving to support the transition to a low-carbon future.

Travelers can explore several of Contiki’s new European trips and experiences here:

The new seven-day trip, "Tuscan Escape," starts in Rome. Guests can live la dolce vita on this adventure up through Tuscany for an authentic taste of this region. They can enjoy the cuisine and idyllic vineyards besides having the opportunity to try artisan crafts. They can re-live the Renaissance in Florence and Lucca, marvel at the medieval beauty of Siena and pose for picture in Pisa.

"Castles, Bikes and Hikes in Romania" is a new four-day detour trip. From Bucharest to Transylvania, tourists can explore the museums, monuments, myths and mountains of Romania. Whether travelers are into food or folk tales, history, horror or hiking, there’s something for everyone on this trip, from Vlad the Impaler to modern city life, via Count Dracula and the "golden age" of communism. Relaxed tours, a mountain hike, plus a guided bike ride will open up stories, sights and cities that they will certainly love.

"Her Story Walking Tour of Split" is a new “Make Travel Matter” experience. On Contiki’s 2022 "Croatia Island Sail" and "Croatia Island Sail Plus" trips, guests can participate in a walking tour of the city, learning about how women helped to shape the history of Split. They can learn about places of resistance in Split, about women who inspired great stories in Croatian literature and women who were brave enough to make the first step in creating a more equal society. All the proceedings from this social impact experience will go to the counseling center for women victims of violence and victims of domestic violence, and Domine, an organization that promotes women’s rights.

The new themed trip, "Active Alps," is a limited-edition eight-day Alpine itinerary designed specifically for adventurous and active travelers. Staying at Contiki’s exclusive gasthof, nestled in Austria’s Tyrol, guests can take in Europe’s scenery as they hike, bike and picnic their way across the Alps. The trip includes swim stops, home-cooked dinners and a tour of Salzburg.

On the new themed trip "Amsterdam Pride," guests can explore Amsterdam, besides having dinner in the 1st Klass restaurant, a Q&A session with a sex worker, and the opportunity to captain their own boat down the winding canals. The four-day trip finishes with one of the world’s most unique Pride parades, taking place upon the water, with exclusive entry into the after-parties.

To qualify for up to 20 percent savings on Europe trips, Contiki guests are required make a full, no-risk $200 deposit for fully flexible bookings.
