Air Canada to Launch New Service to Kauai

Air Canada has announced it will be launching new service to Kauai with its new mainline Boeing 737 MAX-8 fleet this winter.  

The airline will also be doubling the frequency of its flights from Western Canada to Hawaii, and all flights from Western Canada to HonoluluMaui and Kona, and other popular sun destinations will feature Air Canada's new 737 MAX aircraft. All 737 MAX flights are now available for purchase via the Air Canada app, at www.aircanada.com and through travel agents. 

Features of the new 737 MAX aircraft include premium comfort and ambiance with improved seats and LED mood lighting along the ceiling; an upgraded in-flight entertainment system with a sleek, new 15-language user interface; faster Wi-Fi; and the latest quiet engine technology for up to 40 percent less noise, meaning more peace and quiet for customers when flying. The 737 MAX also uses 20 percent less fuel per seat than the original Next-Generation 737.

New, Refreshed Suites at the Sheraton Kauai Resort

Located alongside the white sands of Poipu Beach, the 20-acre Sheraton Kauai Resort recently announced a transformation of guest rooms and suites in its Ocean Wing.

The resort, which already features views of the island’s south shore coastline, will also feature modern furnishings with an island-inspired color palette throughout its guest rooms and suites. Refreshed room categories will encompass deluxe garden view, deluxe oceanfront, luxury oceanfront and ocean suite categories. Renovations of the resort’s Beach Wing are expected to be completed in April.

New Private Tours Offered at Limahuli Garden and Preserve

Beginning this spring, families bound for Kauai will be able to set up private tours of Limahuli Garden and Preserve on the island’s north shore. The 2.5-hour tour offers participants an opportunity to take in the garden on a private walk exclusive to them. The tour is available weekly, Tuesday through Friday, and is priced at $100 per person. Steelgrass Farm Changes Name

Steelgrass Farm, a large cacao farm owned by Kauai’s Lydgate family since the 1860s, recently changed its name to Lydgate Farms. Farm tours and business hours remain the same with its Botanical Garden Tour and Chocolate Tasting available weekdays, Monday through Friday.

Explore Kauai Museum’s New Multimedia Table

The Kauai Museum recently unveiled its Multimedia Table, a new interactive tool showcasing the island and its deep history and culture. Guests of the museum utilizing the Multimedia Table will be able to learn more about the island and hear from some of its cultural representatives alongside song and chant.
