Kissimmee’s Old Town Schedules Grand Reopening for April 2019

Following a multimillion-dollar renovation and expansion, Kissimmee, Florida’s Old Town will have its grand reopening on April 6, 2019. Following two years of work, the old-fashioned tourist town will include 12,000 square feet of additional retail and restaurant space, a new Ferris wheel, additional music acts and more.

The added retail and restaurant space will feature a variety of new shops as well as three new dining options: Froggers Grill & Bar, Shoney’s Restaurant and Bobby’s Garage Bar. All of these, except for Froggers, will open next spring. The complex’s original area will feature the new 86-foot Ferris wheel imported from Italy. Other changes include refurbished store interiors and store fronts, four new fountains, new entrance signage, upgraded restrooms, property-wide LED lighting, an updated sound system, a renovated event space, a new parking lot with 660 spaces and valet parking.

The Orlando-area attraction has also expanded its musical act nights to Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The property has introduced weekly Tuesday karaoke and a free family movie night every Sunday. Old Town’s year-round haunted house and Great Magic Hall will continue their usual service.

This year marks the 28th year of the Old Town Saturday Nite Cruise, the longest-running weekly car show and cruise in the country. The weekly tradition sees pre-1975 hot rods, street rods and antique vehicles paraded down the town’s streets every Friday and Saturday night.
