Luxury travel company Red Savannah is offering travelers a special Royal Tour of England during the May Coronation of King Charles III. The nine-day journey will explore some of the most iconic sights associated with the United Kingdom’s royal family, including not only the most notable venues in London, but also some of the country’s most significant royal estates and gardens in the English countryside.
Day 1: After arriving at London's Heathrow airport, guests will meet their private driver/guide who will chauffeur guests to the royal Windsor, where they will explore the magnificent castle with their guide, including a visit to St. George's Chapel, where Her Late Majesty The Queen was laid to rest. They will also travel through the Cotswolds, stopping at picturesque villages in the region before checking into Calcot & Spa in the heart of the Cotswolds region.
Day 2: After breakfast at the hotel, guests will visit Sudeley Castle, home of King Henry VIII's last wife, Katherine Parr. Guests also have the option to see Horse Trials at Badminton, where Her Late Majesty The Queen was a frequent visitor, or Gatcombe, home of The Princess Royal.
Day 3: After leaving the hotel, guests will visit Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and seat of the Dukes of Marlborough. Upon arrival to England's capital, they will check into The Goring—where the Princess of Wales chose to spend her final night as a commoner before marrying Prince William in 2011.
Day 4: Guests will begin the day at Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace, to see the royal family's collection of transportation including carriages, cars, barges and horses. They will continue onwards and watch the iconic Changing of the Guard ceremony at Wellington Barracks. Then they will enjoy a privately guided tour of Westminster Abbey where King Charles III’s coronation will be held. The day will complete with afternoon tea fit for a king or queen back at The Goring.
Day 5: In the afternoon, guests will visit St. Paul's Cathedral where King Charles married Princess Diana in 1981. The cathedral's dome is a pillar of the London skyline. Guests can also go to the Tower of London for a private showing of the Crown Jewels or take an exclusive tour of an area never open to the public—the King's House, home of the Constable of the Tower of London.
Day 6: Day six begins with a tour of the birthplace of Queen Victoria and home to some of the royal family's princesses—Princess Margaret, Princess Diana, and Princess Catherine at Kensington Palace.
Day 7: Guests will leave fast-paced London and enjoy the county of Norfolk where the royal family celebrates Christmas each year. They will explore Sandringham, visiting the rooms used by the current royal family for their festive celebrations. At the end of explorations, guests check in to the Gunton Arms. Guests also have the option to tour Sandringham on a private basis, rounded off with Champagne afternoon tea.
Day 8: The second day in Norfolk takes you to some of England's most beloved stately homes. Until recently William and Catherine resided at nearby Anmer Hall, which was their private Norfolk residence. Then head to Holkham Hall where Her Late Majesty The Queen and Princess Margaret spent much of their childhood.
Day 9: Guests will check out of the Gunton Arms, and take a private transfer to London's Heathrow airport.
In addition to the planned itinerary, travelers can also opt to have:
- Tours led by a former London black cab driver, now a fully qualified tour guide, with all the stories and anecdotes that one would expect from driving a cab for 15 years.
- A private rooftop tour of Hampton Court Palace to see the extraordinary dual palace and its sumptuous grounds. This was also a filming location for "Bridgerton".
- A tour of Windsor Castle with a private cruise along the River Thames with a Champagne picnic lunch.
