What to Do in Las Vegas on Labor Day Weekend

Las Vegas has a full lineup of parties, concerts, shows, and events in store for Labor Day weekend, with performances from world-famous EDM artists, musical legends, and award-winning comedians. Here’s what to check out.

Mystère by Cirque du Soleil

Travelers can check out the longest-running Cirque du Soleil show at Treasure Island Hotel and Casino this Labor Day weekend. Recognized eight times as the "Best Production Show" by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Mystère combines dance choreography, circus skills, music, acrobatics, and imagery to create a unique Cirque du Soleil experience. Mystère has an international cast of over 60 performers including dancers, singers, musicians and acrobats.

Labor Day shows are available September 1-3 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Anita Baker – Farewell Concert Series

Las Vegas guests can witness the farewell tour of world-famous R&B act, Anita Baker, at the Encore Theater in the Wynn Las Vegas. The singer, songwriter and eight-time Grammy Award winner will celebrate her three-decade career with her fans during a final tour before her retirement. Baker will perform some of her biggest hits like “Sweet Love,” “Caught Up in the Rapture” and “Angel.”

The farewell tour is set for August 24 – September 2, with performances starting at 8 p.m.

EDM Shows

A number of top DJs and electronic artists will play in Las Vegas this weekend including Tiesto, Calvin Harris, Dillon Francis, DJ Mustard, The Chainsmokers and Steve Aoki. These EDM acts, and many others, will be playing all weekend at nightclubs, pool parties, and day clubs at places like the MGM Grand, the Cosmopolitan, Caesars Palace, the Venetian, and Mandalay Bay.

The most popular spots for EDM shows and pool parties will be MGM Grand’s Wet Republic and Wynn Las Vegas’ Encore Beach Club.

Wet Republic is a 54,500-square-foot venue comprised of dipping pools, daybeds, banquets, bungalows and party cabanas. The adult pool offers an open-air covered lounge along with bottle and pitcher service. The venue also offers a dedicated valet for guests. DJs Calvin Harris, Tiesto, Zedd, and Kaskade are the headliners at Wet Republic year.

Encore Beach Club will host The Chainsmokers, Major Lazer, RL Grime, and Diplo this Labor Day Weekend. The pool party venue includes three-tiered pools, luxurious VIP cabanas and bungalows, and 40-foot palm trees that surround the area.

Wayne Brady

Travelers looking for a variety of comedy, music, and dance can see comedian, actor, and singer Wayne Brady for one not only at the Terry Fator Theatre in the Mirage on September 2. The “Whose Line is it Anyway?” star will mix his stand-up and improv comedy with singing and dancing in this variety show.

In addition to his work on “Whose Line is it Anyway?”, the Emmy Award-winning comedian has also hosted two games shows, "Let's Make a Deal" and "Don't Forget the Lyrics!," and has appeared on other popular shows including "Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza," "Chappelle's Show" and "How I Met Your Mother."
