Canopy by Hilton has launched Paws in the Neighborhood, a partnership with Planet Dog, a manufacturer of premium eco-friendly pet products, that offers pet-friendly programming across its North American properties.
The partnership will debut at Canopy Washington D.C. The Wharf, the hotel brand’s first property in the Americas, giving guests’ pets special treats and items that promote dog health and welfare. To start, the program provides guests with a welcome gift, which includes:
- Paws in the Neighborhood Cinch Pack
- Planet Dog Orbee ball
- House-made or locally-sourced dog treat
- Dispenser of pickup bags
- Planet Dog and Canopy by Hilton dog’s guide to the neighborhood – a directory to local dog-centric spaces and services like parks, pet groomers, and vets
- Eco-friendly, fleece-lined leashes and collars (available at welcome table) from Planet Dog’s hemp line
As a take-home gift, guests will also get a promo code for 20 percent savings every time they shop with Planet Dog.
Once checked in, guests and their dogs can settle into their Just-Right Room, which includes a Just-Right dog bed, a Canopy placemat, “Woof!” door hanger tag and Planet Dog food and water bowls. Plus, there is a filtered spring water station on every floor of the hotel, so guests can provide their pets with clean drinking water throughout the stay.
Canopy by Hilton, along with Planet Dog, will also host a regular schedule of on-site gatherings for guests, locals, and their dogs. The programming will vary depending on the hotel and location, but guests can expect things like “Yappy Hours,” Halloween pet costume contests, and other similar events.
No more than two dogs are permitted per room, and dogs above 75 pounds will be permitted at the property’s discretion.
