Destino Xcaret to Launch Adults-Only Boutique Resort Development

Following the successful launch of Hotel Xcaret Mexico in 2017, Destino Xcaret is unveiling the brand’s first adults-only boutique resort development, La Casa de la Playa (Spanish for “the beach house”).

La Casa de la Playa will be home to a new dining destination, Tuch de Luna, by Chef Martha Ortiz. Tuch de Luna will offer Mexican gastronomy by Chef Ortiz. Renowned for her Mexican cuisine in both Mexico City and London, Chef Ortiz has been heralded for her take on inspired, modern flavors infused with the spirit of Mexico. In addition to Chef Ortiz, the new boutique property will also feature the culinary offerings of emerging talent such as Chef Alejandro Mendez who has worked alongside famed chef Alain Passard at his Michelin-star eatery, Arpege.

La Casa de la Playa’s staff uniforms will be created by designer, Carla Fernández. Based in Mexico City, Carla Fernández’s eponymous fashion house features designs inspired by the geometrics of Mexico. The brand has gained international acclaim for its approach to preserving the cultural heritage of Mexico’s indigenous communities and transforming it into clothing, textiles and housewares. Fernández is one of 11 worldwide recipients of the Prince Claus Award based in Amsterdam, which recognizes artists whose cultural actions have a positive impact on the development of their societies.

Following an investment of 85 million dollars (US), La Casa de la Playa, a sustainable boutique hotel, will feature 63 suites with private plunge pools, categorized in three concepts: Nature, Fun and Wellness. The property will also house two pools, a spa, in-room spa services, mezcaleria, chocolate confectionary shop, wine cellar, library and multiple dining destinations.
