Dhawa, a brand by Banyan Tree Group, has made its debut in the Maldives with an island retreat set on the North Malé Atoll. The all-villa Dhawa Ihuru invites sun-seekers and marine life enthusiasts to explore its new dining and leisure offerings as the property unveils new facilities following its rebrand from Angsana Ihuru.
Dhawa Ihuru is located a 20-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport. The new "Twin Island" dine-around concept offers guests a chance to explore dining options at the sister resort Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru, while the new social hub, the Nest, Dhawa’s signature 24/7 concept, serves refreshments any time of day or night. Barception offers a chic yet relaxed dining experience centered on local bites and cocktails; Nook offers all-day dining with beachfront views; and Nectar enables guests to dine on Japanese, Indian, Chinese, Maldivian and Western flavors from any location on the island, from villa to the beach, with bento box-style options.
The water sports center offers windsurfing, wakeboarding, water skiing and canoeing opportunities, complemented by private catamaran excursions that take guests over the house reef to snorkel among beautiful reefs in the Maldives, besides dining on uninhabited islands. Additionally, there are 30 diving spots at the house reef and a PADI five-star Gold Dive Centre on site.
The 8LEMENTS Spa offers several therapies and practices, including massages, and cooling and restoring body wraps. Activa, the resort’s 24-hour fitness center also offers a yoga room with views of the Indian Ocean. The resort also offers a multi-purpose room for meetings and team-building activities.
Tip: Dhawa Ihuru offers a range of packages, including the “All-inclusive Island Getaway” offer with savings of 25 percent on best available rates when booking a minimum of four nights, with complimentary return speedboat transfers.
