First Look: Royal Uno All Inclusive Resort & Spa

Royal Uno All Inclusive Resort & Spa is on schedule for its opening in Cancun on June 28. The all-inclusive, family-friendly property has unveiled its “authentic Cancun” architectural focus, which led the design team from Et Al Studios to create modern spaces that share odes to the “old” Cancun. Authentic elements such as terrace tiles, representative of the traditional hacienda style of the Yucatán, can be seen throughout the hotel’s public spaces. The resort’s ocean-forward in-room design is represented by colors and finishes referring to the shades of corals, fish and flora that can be found in the underwater ecosystem.

“Resort guests will be able to enjoy a variety of tones that we would find under the sea,” said Daniela Padilla, a designer at Et Al Studios. “We intended to bring the underwater world into the guest’s space, for cohesion with Royal Uno’s surroundings and gentle encouragement to experience Cancun’s beautiful marine life,” she adds. Arched windows and balconies, arched wall hangings, table décor and fabric prints can be spotted throughout the resort’s interiors to bring cohesion between its interior and exterior looks.

Royal Uno has 540 guestrooms and suites, each of which has an open concept space with a private ocean-view terrace or balcony, queen or king-size beds, an independent living and dining area, a tub and separate shower in the bathrooms, and a spacious terrace. Designed to be “a hotel of the sea,” the resort is strategically located on the beach with a front-row seat to the Mexican Caribbean.

The resort offers four bars and five restaurants, including an open-kitchen concept serving international cuisine at Os, Mexican at Palotinte, Italian at Miamare and Asian fare at Aora. There’s a café, and a grab-&-go counter as well.

Resort amenities include two oversized pools, a children’s pool with a play area, Alea Spa, Uno Kids Club, and a family room for video games and movies. Guests can also indulge in watersports, with kayaks and sailboats on the lagoon, besides daily activities and evening entertainment.
