The Gore London and The Pelham London—both part of Starhotels Collezione—have appointed new hotel managers. J-J Pollak and Niccolò Consigli joined the hotels respectively in January 2023. Having spent over a decade working within luxury hospitality, they will both be responsible for the planning, directing and coordinating of the hotels' day-to-day operations. Pollak and Consigli will focus their attention on details, quality and excellence to ensure an outstanding experience for each and every guest.
Pollak is joining Starhotels Collezione after almost four years at Hazlitt's Hotels, having ran Batty Langley's in Shoreditch, and successfully closed and reopened the property during the pandemic. He studied Hospitality Management at Bournemouth University and after graduating moved to Bailiffscourt Hotel & Spa, part of Historic Sussex Hotels as assistant restaurant manager and then front of house manager. Two years later, Pollak was promoted to general manager of the sister hotel, The Spread Eagle Hotel & Spa in Midhurst, where he remained for almost five years, transforming the hotel back to its former glory.
Consigli worked in London for many years, before moving back to Florence—where he is originally from—to work for the Lungarno Collection and for the Hilton family between Florence and Rome. Returning to London, he worked for the Millennium Mayfair Hotel, to then become hotel manager of the Bloomsbury property owned by New World Hospitality Ltd and cluster general manager of My Chelsea, from the same collection. Over the period of the next five years Consigli enjoyed success building the business and producing significant financial results and, as a highly motivated and results-driven Hotelier, he is now joining the Starhotels family.
