The Bothy by Wildsmith at Heckfield Place in England has opened its doors to welcome guests. Home to generations of estate gardeners, the wellness retreat lies beyond a secret door of the Georgian family home’s original walled garden and affords views across the Hampshire countryside.
The new 17,000-square-foot space is fully connected to its natural environment and is the home for the skincare brand, Wildsmith Skin, with the full range available and incorporated into all experiences and treatments.
An evolution of the first well-being concept, The Little Bothy at Heckfield Place, the new retreat offers:
- Six treatment rooms, inclugin two double rooms
- The Waters, a chlorine-free space of relaxation and healing that uses ionization and natural minerals ions of copper, silver, zinc, aluminum and gold
- The Oak Terrace, home to outdoor hydrotherapy, healing thermal experiences including sauna, steam room, temperature-and-mood-shifting Experiential Shower and a bucket shower with ice cold water
- Three movement spaces – two fitness rooms and a Movement Studio
- The Sun Room, an indoor-outdoor space fueled by the epicurean alchemy of Heckfield Place’s Culinary Director Skye Gyngell, with a small plant-based menu
- The Bothy Shop, offering a selection of pieces from their made-by-many makers, as well as the complete Wildsmith Skin range
Each treatment journey by Wildsmith will be linked to the estate and led by one of Heckfield Place’s master practitioners or experienced resident therapists. The treatment menu includes massages, facials, meditation and movement as well as time spent with the master practitioners who specialize in naturopathy, osteopathy, reiki, bodywork and more.
The Bothy’s concept of integrated well-being extends to the outdoors, too. Wildsmith Movement offers guests physical journeys exploring the grounds including Woodland Movement, Farm Fit, Forest Bathing and Cold Wild Water Immersion Therapy.
The opening of The Bothy by Wildsmith at Heckfield Place forms part of the evolution of the estate, inviting guests to "slow down, breathe deeper and discover the healing powers of nature." The wellness space will welcome house guests for a recommended time of three hours per session with bookings centered around dawn, noon and dusk each day. The Bothy by Wildsmith welcomes guests over 16 only. Guests are invited to enter with an open mind, with phones and shoes safely stored away upon arrival.
