Hotel d’Inghilterra Roma Unveils Renovated Rooms and Suites

Starhotels Collezione’s Hotel d’Inghilterra Roma recently underwent a major renovation, which included the restoration of the exterior and the historic façade, which is protected by Soprintendenza—the office for the Protection of Historic and Artistic assets—as well as the refurbishment of the rooms and suites.

The rooms, all decorated in warm colors, have been renovated in accordance with Starhotels’ guidelines, using Made in Italy design features. The fabrics, selected with the help of partners such as Rubelli, intend to evoke the nuances of ancient Roman palaces. Each suite is decorated with restored antiques from the hotel’s collection; the top-floor suites have been embellished with marble and stucco.

Pincio, Villa Borghese, the Altare della Patria and the Quirinale can all be viewed from the windows of the attic suites which, combined with the interiors, enhance the atmosphere of this 19th-century Roman palace.

The Penthouse Suite consists of a large living room with an original 19th-century yellow Sienese marble fireplace overlooking the dining room, study and master bedroom. Bas-reliefs by the Roman craftsman Felice Calchi and handmade lamps by Vetrerie di Empoli adorn the suite, which also sports Italian velvets and fabrics designed by Dedar.

Located on the top floor of the hotel, this suite has a 753-square-foot terrace with outdoor furniture and a 360-degree view from the Villa Medici to the Vittorio Emanuele II monument. The terrace is the ideal place to relax, have an aperitif, enjoy a romantic dinner, or organize a private event overlooking the rooftops of Rome.

Situated on the fifth floor, the Balcony Suites have a color palette of black and white in its geometric upholstery and decorations. Stylish details in the lighting and trims blend with the color of the furniture. Each suite is adorned with Florentine scagliola dining tables, while balconies have upholstered wrought-iron furniture. From the rooftops, the light floods the rooms, reflected in the mirrors that adorn the walls.

The latest works will be followed by the renovation of the remaining rooms and public spaces by year-end, with the addition of a spa and a rooftop bar.
