Meliá Hotels International Announces Expansion

Meliá Hotels International has announced new hotel openings and brand expansion. This includes the recent opening of the second Paradisus by Meliá in Europe and the group's plans to double its presence in Mexico, from seven to 14 hotels over the next two years.  

ZEL to Open Second Location in Sayulita, Mexico

Zel, the hotel brand created by Rafael Nadal and Meliá, will begin its expansion with a new hotel in the Mexican Pacific. Slated to open in 2025, Zel Sayulita will be a newly built hotel, bringing the unique Mediterranean lifestyle-inspired experiences to world-renowned destinations.

Strategically located on the beachfront, the hotel will have 145 rooms, along with a large central courtyard.

ME by Meliá to Open Two New Hotels in Mexico

Meliá Hotels International has also announced two new ME by Meliá hotels will open in 2025 in Mexico, one in San Miguel de Allende and one in Sayulita. These hotels will join the existing ME Cabo and the future ME Guadalajara to increase the presence of the luxury lifestyle hotel brand in Mexico.

The newly built ME Sayulita is set to open in its first phase by the end of 2023. With a beachfront location, ME Sayulita will have 125 rooms and villas, as well a three restaurants, a main pool, gym, spa, beach club and a rooftop bar and pool. 

The second new ME by Meliá hotel in San Miguel de Allende is currently under construction and is also expected to open in 2025. It will comprise 140 rooms and all the signature attributes of ME by Meliá. Other notable facilities/amenities of the hotel will include unique dining experiences, a luxury spa, innovative gym and views of the city from the rooftop bar.

Paradisus by Meliá Opens in the Canary Islands

Paradisus by Meliá has officially opened Paradisus Salinas Lanzarote. As the second Paradisus by Meliá in Europe to open this year, the resort offers 282 rooms and villas, a 19,000-square-foot swimming pool, tropical gardens designed by César Manrique and seven distinct dining options. The resort was designed by the renowned Spanish architect Fernando Higueras. Located on the island of Lanzarote, a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, Paradisus Salinas Lanzarote is surrounded by the beaches of Costa Teguise and villages deep with culture.

The resort will also offer "Destination Inclusive" experiences, the newly launched program curated by local experts connecting guests with nature and the surroundings of each resort location. Paradisus Salinas Lanzarote will offer guests guided off-property trips to Jameos del Agua, The Cactus Garden and El Grifo Winery
