Melia Hotels International Opens Two New Punta Cana Properties

Meliá Hotels International has announced the grand opening of two distinct new properties: Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort and Meliá Caribe Beach Resort. After splitting into two distinct resorts, both properties are now open with an array of food and beverage offerings, and specialized activities designed to enhance the guest experience.

An adults-only property, Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort provides amenities such as THE LEVEL – Meliá Hotels & Resorts' service concept – and views of its backyard tropical gardens and beaches on Playa Bávaro. Consisting of 544 rooms, inclusive of standard junior suites and 136 THE LEVEL suites, the resort additionally offers dining experiences, activities for adults and access to the on-property YHI Spa optimized for relaxation. THE LEVEL amenities include preferential treatment such as an exclusive VIP lounge for check-in/out, an exclusive pool, additional restaurant inclusivity at the Quimera Restaurant & Rooftop, free Internet access, premium beverages, and hors d’oeuvres alongside coffee/tea service throughout the day. Dining options at Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort include seven individual restaurant concepts with cuisine ranging from Mediterranean to Italian. Casa Nostra, a restaurant featuring a wood fire grill and Italian specialties; Muoi, an oriental style restaurant offering Dim Sum, Vietnamese, Sushi and Robatta style cuisine; Mosaico, in the heart of the hotel’s gastronomic experience, blends a casual Mediterranean dining experience with a local and art deco aesthetic; Rumba, an open air breakfast and lunch experience with views of the Caribbean sea and an international buffet; and Replay, a sports bar offering cocktails.

Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort offers a wide range of activities. These include relaxing in the sun at the beach or at one of the several pool options, water activities like Latin dance classes in the water, cultural workshops, team sports and fitness classes. Also included among the property’s luxury offerings is access to the Cocotal golf course – an 18-hole course designed by the course architect José Gancedo.

Specializing in family-friendly activities, services and amenities, Meliá Caribe Beach Resort offers an array of room options, specifically designed to meet multi-generational needs. Featuring 611 rooms, comprised of 154 THE LEVEL Suites, 125 Beachside Family Rooms, and a mix of 332 Premium Beachside and Deluxe Rooms, the resort works to combine the essence of the Caribbean with modern all-inclusive spaces. Some of these include, Riviera, an all-day eatery that is exclusively accessible to The Level guests serves international cuisine infused with local flavor. Additional venues with access for all include: Alma, a restaurant that blends traditional Spanish recipes with modern techniques; Barefoot, a casual beachfront grill and bar; and Merkado, overlooking the beach and featuring family style and seating for large groups, a kid’s corner and ice cream shop. Opening later this year, guests will have access to more options including: Tartufo, an Italian and Mediterranean restaurant; Bazaar, an a la carte restaurant featuring food trucks and American grill style food stations; and O Grille, offering grilled specialties and snacks and picnic style seating,

Offerings include a comprehensive lineup of family entertainment activities, access to Bávaro Beach as well as several pools, an arcade featuring popular gaming and virtual reality consoles. And newly debuted, the property will offer an interactive waterpark named ‘Splash Island.’ The Splash Water Park at Meliá Caribe Beach features slides, SplashPad, cascades and an interactive swimming pool. In accordance with Meliá Hotels & Resorts services, the property will additionally include the ‘Kid’s Zone’ which allows kids access to several slides, the opportunity to take part in on-property activations like the ‘Mini Olympics’ or use their imagination to become courageous explorers of their new nature-filled surroundings.
