Planet Hollywood has signed an agreement with integrated travel company Sunwing Travel Group. The partnership with Sunwing Travel Group is in an effort to expand the Planet Hollywood to a global scale. The first two resorts to open as part of the venture will be in Central America and Mexico: Planet Hollywood Cancun and Planet Hollywood Beach Resort Costa Rica.
The former is scheduled to open in spring 2019 while the latter is slated to open this fall. They mark Planet Hollywood’s first foray into the “in-demand, luxury all-inclusive” category.
The new resorts will incorporate interactive touch-screen digital displays narrating the memorabilia experience and PHTV in-suite and throughout the resort, keeping guests up-to-date with live streaming of events and activities.
In addition to building and operating new resorts, Sunwing Travel Group will offer management services and franchise opportunities to prospective Planet Hollywood Hotels and Resorts worldwide.
Sunwing Travel Group comprises Sunwing Vacations, Signature Vacations, Sunwing Airlines, SunwingJets, and Vacation Express. Blue Diamond Resorts is the Group’s hotel management company, which operates resort brands such as Royalton Luxury Resorts, Memories Resorts & Spa and Starfish Hotels & Resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico.
