Pink Sands Club Officially Rebrands as Mandarin Oriental, Canouan

Despite taking over the Pink Sands Club on the island of Canouan in St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the end of last year, Mandarin Oriental’s name was only just added to the property. The resort, which has 26 suites and seven villas, will now operate as Mandarin Oriental, Canouan.

The announcement comes on the trails of Mandarin Oriental announcing its second Caribbean resort, Mandarin Oriental, Grand Cayman, which is set to debut in 2021.

At Mandarin Oriental, Canouan, the 26 one- and two-bedroom suites have wood furnishings, en-suite marble bathrooms and walk-in closets. Touch-screen tablets allows guests to set room temperature, book spa appointments and making dinner reservations. There are four two-bedroom suites with identical bedrooms, each with their own master bath and his-and-hers walk-in closets. Two one-bedroom penthouse suites (located on the first floor) have a large living room area, an ocean-facing bedroom, a dining room with a wine tower, and an adjoining designer kitchenette.

The three-story Lagoon Villas are four-bedroom, colonial-style residences located on the hillside, offering views of Godhal Beach and the island's coral reef. The master bedroom on the second floor has its own bathroom, dressing room, private lounge and a long-term storage area. Two bedrooms are located on the ground floor with a lounge area and den leading out to the villa's private infinity pool and patio space. All bedrooms have a walk-in closet, and en suite marble bathroom with separate bath and shower. The villas include a full-service kitchen, two golf carts for guests' personal use; a maids' quarters are also available.

Mandarin Oriental, Canouan has two fine dining restaurants: Romeo and Juliet. Romeo serves Pan-Asian dishes from its open kitchen; Juliet serves international cuisine. There’s also Turtles Bar, which has a Hamptons-esque design, and the Pool Lounge, serving Peruvian Nikkei poolside or on the terrace overlooking the infinity pool.

The spa has nine palapa-style treatment rooms set on a hillside. The resort also has a fully equipped fitness center with treadmills, weights, stationary bikes and Pilate's equipment.

Canouan is located 25 miles south of St. Vincent.
