Rome's Bettoja Hotels Collection Completes 2nd Phase of Renovation

(NA)

Bettoja Hotels Collection, an Italy-based, family-owned hospitality collection, has completed work on the second phase of a major renovation project, which included 70 new Premium rooms and suites, as well as other enhancements, at the group’s Hotel Mediterraneo in Rome

Bettoja says that it worked with top Italian artisans on the project, which began this past summer, to restore the historic design details of the Art Deco property. The light points of the rooms, including the original Venini Applique and the original 1940’s furniture, have now been completely restored. The 70 new Premium rooms are divided into Classic, Superior, Deluxe and Junior Suite categories.

The restoration work also extended to the “Return of Ulysses to Ithaca” mosaic by Franco D’Urso in the lobby; the inlay on a sketch by Achille Capizzano, “Allegory of writing through history,” in the Sala delle Mappe lounge area; the carvings of the Sala delle Polene, where guests can enjoy breakfast; and the 1939 monumental mosaic of Saint George killing the dragon in the Sala San Giorgio

The Congress Conference Center has also been completely refreshed and is now operational, adding to the total meeting space capacity of the three hotels that are part of the collection.

In addition to its flagship property, Hotel Mediterraneo, the Bettoja Hotels Collection also owns two other hotels in Rome: the Hotel Atlantico and the Hotel Massimo D’Azgelio
