Sun Valley Resort to Stay Open Through Renovations

Sun Valley Resort in the Idaho mountains has announced additional renovations to the property following its full renovation that was completed in summer 2015. Sun Valley Inn, The Ram, The Ram Bar, and the new Village Station will all be updated to enhance guests experiences.

The property was founded in 1936 as America’s first destination ski resort, according to the company. It’s open year-round and offers activities including skiing, snowboarding, skating, hiking, biking, golfing, fishing, shooting, concerts, shopping, and dining.

Updates to The Sun Valley Inn guestrooms began this fall with the first 25, while the remaining 80 rooms will be updated in fall 2018. New furnishings and amenities are being added to the existing features. Some of the rooms are being connected to make expanded guest suites and once completed, the inn will have 98 guestrooms, down from the current 105.

The Ram renovation began in early September and is scheduled to be finished by late December. The traditional atmosphere will be retained, while a new exhibition kitchen will be added. The menu will still be upscale, with nightly specials. Once revamped, The Ram Bar will have wooden floors, a new fireplace, more seating, and large screen televisions.

A new addition to Sun Valley dining is Village Station, scheduled to open in mid-December. The space provides a full-service bar, craft beers on tap, and a menu of pizza, pasta, sandwiches, burgers, and entrees, great for watching the game or catching up with friends.

Sun Valley Resort is open during the renovation projects, with a variety of activities and specials events now through November 21.
