Who’s Where in Travel: New Hires at Hotels in U.S., Puerto Rico and Greece

Cape Resorts, which has nine properties throughout Cape May, NJ and Long Island, NY, has appointed Kate Harth as chief sales and marketing officer. Most recently, she worked in asset management at Fulcrum Hospitality, overseeing sales and marketing for a select group of hotels. Prior, Harth served as general manager of The New York EDITION, and pre-opening general manager of The West Hollywood EDITION.

In her new role, Harth will oversee strategic development and implementation of Cape Resorts’ national sales plan, supporting sales revenue and growth as the portfolio continues to grow and expand.

The soon-to-open JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa has unveiled its opening team. Michael Manzari has been named general manager; he most recently served as GM of W Hollywood Hotel & Residences. Manzari also held roles as complex general manager for Westin an Le Meridian in Philadelphia. Jennifer Sack is the director of sales and marketing. She has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, beginning her career with Marriott in 2006. In 2021, she joined The Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club as director of sales and marketing. Lastly, Ashley Farnham will be the hotel’s senior sales executive. A Clearwater native, she started with Marriott 15 years ago.

The Kimpton Brice Hotel in Savannah’s historic landmark district announced that Jason Gifford has been named general manager of the under-renovation property. Gifford joins The Kimpton Brice following a nearly two-year stint as general manager of The National Hotel Oklahoma City; prior, he served as GM at The Last Hotel St. Louis. Gifford started his hospitality career as a midnight bellman in 1992, before moving up to guest service manager, sales manager, director of front office operations and eventually on to even higher roles.   

Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve has welcomed Gavin Bailey as its new senior travel industry sales manager. Bringing over 22 years of hospitality experience to his role, Bailey will focus on building the property’s leisure sales, achieving revenue goals and curating a successful team.

Bailey began in hospitality over two decades ago, getting his start in the airline industry at Air Jamaica. In 2009, Bailey began his tenure with Ritz-Carlton as the travel sales industry coordinator for The Ritz-Carlton Golf and Spa Resort in Rose Hall, Jamaica. He also held a role as the area senior sales manager of leisure sales for The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne, The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove and The Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale. Nearing 14 years of experience with Ritz-Carlton, Dorado Beach will be Bailey’s first Reserve property.

Grace Hotel, Auberge Resorts Collection has announced the appointment of Maria Tsagarakis as the new general manager of the Greek hotel. Born and raised in Athens, with over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Tsagarakis’ career has taken her all over the globe. She has played a key role in the success of various local and international hotels from Dubai to Greece and, since 2017, she has been working at Grace Hotel as the director of operations.
