The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) elected a new executive committee at the end of the ASTA Global Convention, which took place in Washington D.C. the week of August 20.
On August 21, the incumbent Board of Directors assembled to choose the new Executive Committee consisting of a Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary, Treasurer and the Chair of ASTA’s Corporate Advisory Council (CAC). The new ASTA Executive Committee includes:
- Dave Hershberger, President, Prestige Travel Inc./Travel Leaders, Cincinnati OH (Chairman)
- Eric Maryanov, President, All-Travel, Los Angeles CA (Vice Chairman and Secretary)
- Steve Powers, President, Hidden Treasure Tours, New Lebanon, NY(Treasurer & Area Director, East Region)
- Denise Jackson, President & CEO, Balboa Travel Inc., San Diego CA (CAC Chair)
The ASTA Board of Directors has over 10 members representing all parts of the industry, with a blend of elected seats and seats reserved by ASTA’s bylaws. Members of the 2018-2019 ASTA Board of Directors include:
- Rick Ardis, Ardis Travel, East Rutherford NJ (elected to second term)
- Brian Chapin, Ensemble Travel Group, Chicago IL (newly elected, serving 1 year term)
- Betsy Geiser, Uniglobe Travel Center, Irvine CA (elected to second term)
