Dream Vacations, CruiseOne and Cruises Inc. have appointed Dawn Gillis to the newly created role of director of network sales and support. As part of the new role, Gillis will oversee business development, groups sales and support services. Aligning these teams under one leader will allow for increased collaboration, Dream Vacations said.
Gillis began her career at parent company World Travel Holdings in 1993 as a frontline agent before transitioning over to management. For the past 10 years as land product manager, Gillis has been responsible for growing the company’s land business, which has experienced double-digit growth each of the last four years. Within her career at World Travel Holdings, she also has held positions in training, sales and marketing.
Dream Vacations, CruiseOne and Cruises Inc. are all part of World Travel Holdings.
The new appointment follows a slate of technology and marketing investments at the three brands in 2019. That year, the brands launched a number of land technologies aimed at simplifying the land booking process, such as a means of making it easier to create flexible reminders and payment schedules, as well as fully customizable invoices and transactional emails, as well as a capability in Travel Planner to provide clients a vacation itinerary complete with background information on the destination; shopping, dining and excursion recommendations; and the option to chat with their travel agent in real time. The company also made investments in niche marketing, training and philanthropy.
