Bowman was also the hotel’s general manager when it was a Mandarin Oriental property. Following its reflagging under the Waldorf brand, the hotel underwent a nearly complete property staff conversion under Bowman’s leadership, Waldorf said.

Having over 30 years of international and domestic experience in hospitality, Bowman previously held positions at the Rafael Group of Hotels, which was later taken over by Mandarin Oriental Group. That acquisition gave him the chance to lead Mandarin Oriental's properties and become the hotel manager of the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas in 2009. The hotel became a Forbes triple five-star hotel under Bowman’s management.
