Ashanti, Keyshia Cole, Ja Rule to Headline St. Maarten Carnival

Ashanti, Keyshia Cole and Ja Rule will be headlining a concert at the 50th Anniversary of St. Maarten Carnival. On April 25, the three musicians will hop on the stage at the Soulful Company concert. Presented by the St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF), the concert promises a night of “smooth groovin’ and boppin’.”

2019 marks the 50th anniversary of St. Maarten Carnival. Festivities will officially take place from April 20 to May 7, with pre-Carnival activities kicking off on March 16. St. Maarten Carnival is the longest carnival in the Caribbean, spanning 33 days in overall length.

The three headliners will also be joined by local artists Natisha Hanson and Kenyo Baly, representing The Friendly Island at the second iteration of the Soulful Company concert.

St. Maarten’s Carnival is the island’s national festival held in April each year. It is designed to extend the island’s tourist season.

In other destination news, the Saint Martin/Sint Maarten Annual Regional Trade Show is coming in late May. The event is an opportunity for regional and international buyers to interact with suppliers and other noteworthy tourism industry partners from the neighboring Caribbean islands through three days of master classes, workshops, activities and festivities.
