American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) has expanded its online accommodation program to provide companies and business travelers access to over 2 million properties worldwide with additional inventory from the company's existing partnership with Booking.com.

GBT clients and travelers can select from a slate of overnight stay options using their online booking tool (OBT), including major chain hotels, independent hotels, non-traditional lodging and extended stay options, alongside transportation.

GBT’s relationships with major hotel chains and third-party travel partners provide clients access to loyalty member rates and additional rate discounts across inventory sources. Through the expansion of the accommodation program, they can now also utilize special Booking.com discounts at thousands of properties around the world. Booking.com Genius rates, available globally, offer savings of at least 10 percent on every booking. They appear in OBTs as “Genius Business.”

Clients and travelers can also access the full range of GBT accommodation inventory by calling a GBT travel counselor.

In other GBT news, the company partnered with Lola.com last year to generate a self-service managed travel program. The new product fuses GBT’s business relationships with Lola.com’s software.

American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) has a backing of 17,000 travel professionals in over 140 countries. GBT provides travel management services, organized meetings and events and delivers business travel consulting.
