Luxury Travel Expo News & Updates

The 11th annual Luxury Travel Expo concluded in Las Vegas with a lineup of speakers and learning workshops that aided luxury travel agents in improving their knowledge and skills while building toward a boost in more business. Buzz about the show has been bountiful since April, when opening registration numbers set a new record.

Attendees heard from some of the best in the industry, including a panel discussion among Dan Mahar, CEO and board director of Tauck World Discovery; Dennis Pinto, managing director of Micato Safaris; Ian Swain, president and owner of Swain Tours; and Scott Wiseman, president of Abercrombie & Kent USA. Malaka Hilton, CEO, president and founder of Admiral Travel International will moderate the discussion.

Other industry leaders spoke as a part of the event's conference program. Speakers included: Priscilla Alexander, founder and president of ProTravel International; Terry Dale, president and CEO of Cruise Lines International Association; Nathan E. Devore, senior vice president of Rich Worldwide Travel; Malaka Hilton, CEO, president and founder of Admiral Travel International; Jack Mannix, CTC, president and CEO of Ensemble Travel Group; Ignacio Maza, executive vice president of Signature Travel Network; Gene Sloan, Travel Editor/Cruise for USA Today; and Jim Strong, CTC, ACC, president of Strong Travel Services.

New this year was be the inaugural Silent Auction.
