Stats: 53% of Millennials to Take Spring Break Vacation

Over 53 percent of people aged 18 to 34 plan to travel for Spring Break this year, according to a new joint study from TripAdvisor, Viator and Offers.com. Rome, Paris and Las Vegas top the list for most popular destinations in 2018. Viator tracked internal data to find that New Orleans is the top growing travel destination, with a 126 percent increase from last year, and Reykjavik following with an 82 percent growth rate year over year for top travel destinations.

Here are some other key findings from the report:

  • The average Millennial will spend $369.63 on Spring Break travel
  • Most 18-34 year-old consumers will spend Spring Break relaxing (35%) or studying (23%). Other top activities include swim, surf and beach activities (18%) and visiting family or going to their hometown (15%)
  • Most 18-34 year-olds will be spending their Spring Break budget on food (33%), outdoor/recreational equipment (24%) and alcohol (19%)
  • 10 percent of Millennials plan to travel multiple destinations for Spring Break
