Travel Advisor Day: ASTA Relaunches TravelSense.org

Today is National Travel Advisor Day, and to celebrate, the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) is relaunching TravelSense.org, a website dedicated to showcasing the value and expertise of travel advisors to the traveling public and connecting advisors with consumers.

The freshly redesigned TravelSense.org is a consumer tool that allows the traveling public to connect directly with ASTA travel advisors. The website remodel includes new features such as a revamped platform, expert travel content and a chat feature for travelers to connect in real-time with the advisor of their choice.

Since the beginning of 2019, TravelSense.org advisor leads have approached $700,000, ASTA said. This ASTA Member tool is designed to generate new business for travel advisors and the travel expertise needed for the consumers.

ASTA travel advisor members can follow these steps to update their profile on TravelSense.org.

The move is one of a few that ASTA is making to celebrate National Travel Advisor Day. The organization is also offering a toolkit to help advisors promote their value to the traveling public, policymakers and the media. The toolkit includes the day’s official hashtags for social media promotions -- #TravelAdvisorDay and #ASTAadvisors – as well as pre-drafted Letters to Congress and a pre-drafted Letter to the Editor portal.

“Today’s travel advisors aren’t intermediaries,” said ASTA President and CEO Zane Kerby in a written statement. “They are trusted advisors — akin to financial planners and CPAs — whose knowledge allows them to navigate a complex array of suppliers to maximize value for their clients. Our yearly consumer research makes clear: travel advisors make the experience better! Happy Travel Advisor Day!”
