Travel Leaders of Tomorrow Leads Its First FAM Trip

Sponsored by Funjet Vacations, Travel Leaders of Tomorrow hosted its first fam trip, taking 20 travel agents to Cancun. While there, participants visited over 10 resorts, performed site inspections, met with local suppliers, took training courses and went parasailing and snorkeling.

Travel Leaders of Tomorrow is a collaboration between Travel Leaders Group and other partners within the travel industry. The initiative works to introduce the curious to the travel agent world, readying them to open their own business or join an agency. It provides an education plan for these potential agents that includes online study halls, guest lectures, business advice and independent learning.

Heather Kindred, the program director for Travel Leaders of Tomorrow, acknowledged the importance of fam trips in giving travel agents first-hand experience with an unfamiliar location. In order to fully prepare agents for their career, she said, the company thought it was important to include a fam trip in its education program. After the results of this trip, Kindred said the group plans on offering similar fam trips in the future.
