Contiki Launches First Ever Coach Trip in Africa

Contiki has debuted "Garden Route And Addo," an eight-day tour of one of Africa’s most renowned road trips, marking the social travel brand’s first African product. the trip capitalizes on the diversity of locations and activities available along the Garden Route, including beaches, safaris and vineyards.

Among the included experiences are a visit to Cango Caves, Africa’s largest limestone cave system. Travelers will also see elephants at Addo Elephant park, with the chance to see the Big 5 on a game drive in Amakhala and to spot whales and dolphins on a unique ocean safari. Further activities include a township tour, where travelers can learn more about the lasting effects of apartheid, plus a guided hike in Tsitsikamma National Park and a visit to the Stellenbosch wine region.

Born and raised in Africa, Junkuhn was a Contiki trip manager for five years before launching Contiki Africa back in 2018. Since then, the trip range has grown to include outings in Botswana, Namibia, Kenya and more, including South Africa.

The trip includes accommodation, coach transport and breakfast every day. The Contiki group will be no bigger than 39 travelers. The tour company's experiences are tailored for those 18 to 35 years of age.
