Eurobound Adds New Independent Poland Tour

In response to growing demand for Poland, Eurobound has created a new eight-day independent tour of the country. The tour includes four nights in Krakow and three nights in Warsaw, four-star hotel accommodations with breakfast, first-class rail travel with transfers between both cities, all private touring with English-speaking guides, and a private cooking class.

In Krakow, a full day of touring includes the Wieliczka Salt Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back more than 700 years, with three levels of galleries, chambers and chapels. The Salt Mine visit is followed by a half-day walking tour of the Old Town and Main Market Square with Cloth Hall, built in the 14th century, and St. Mary Church. A highlight is Wawel Royal Castle, the cultural and political center of Poland until early 17th century, with its royal chambers and private royal apartments.

A full day, with private transportation and guide, is devoted to a tour of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, now a museum and memorial, also on UNESCO’s World Heritage list.

A private Communism tour in a classic Nysa 522 minivan, highlights the Warsaw visit. Revealing life under Communism following World War II, the tour visits monumental buildings constructed during the period, a residential district designed to fit Communist ideology, and the Museum of Life Under Communism, including a reconstructed Communist café.

Hearty Polish cooking is on the menu, beginning with a dinner and folklore show in Krakow. Also in Krakow is a half-day, private Food Walking Tour which visits three or four restaurants and includes sit-down tastings of 10 dishes and a vodka sampling. Lastly, a private dumpling cooking class in a well-known Warsaw restaurant, complete with transportation, reveals the secrets of homemade pierogi, or filled dumplings.
